RW Armstrong, a global engineering firm with locations around the world, including one in Indianapolis’ historic Union Station, which houses RW Armstrong University for corporate training initiatives. This space is utilized to deliver training locally and to offices around the country and abroad via live videoconference presentation feeds and captured/stored content delivery.
A particular challenge with this project was the acoustics due to the active railroad tracks adjacent to the corporate training center space. Design 27 provided acoustical analysis and engineering to ensure the room was isolated from passing trains. This was an important aspect of the project given the nature of the space for training and capturing events for future viewing. The technology highlights included a high definition projection system, complete room automation, Polycom ceiling mounted array microphones and full videoconferencing technologies. A raised floor was also included in the space to offer future room configuration flexibility.
