After the successful passage of a bond issue, Lebanon City Schools is embarking on a facilities improvement plan to address space requirements and aging facilities. Design 27 was engaged by SHP Leading Design as part of the overall design team to manage the telecommunication systems design for a $63 million improvement plan that includes five schools within the district. The project began in the summer of 2014 and is targeted for completion in the fall of 2017.
Design 27 is responsible for managing an overall technology budget of $4.2 million for this project. This includes the design and implementation of a 1:1 wireless environment within each of the five facilities. Additionally, our design efforts will be driven by the utilization of state standards for projects funded by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC).
The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission is covering a majority of the project cost, while the November 2013 bond that was passed will cover the remaining costs. The OFCC is responsible for guiding capital projects for state agencies, state-supported universities and community colleges and the public K-12 school construction and renovation program.
