In April 2016, Indiana Wesleyan University Board of Trustees voted to add football as an intercollegiate sport for the University. The goal is to start competition in the Fall of 2018 and in order for this to become a reality a stadium and support structure have to be added to campus. Current plans call for 2,500 seats with a berm around the stadium that is below grade boosting overall capacity to 4,000.
A 17,000 sq. ft. football support facility is also being planned that includes a locker room, weight room, meeting rooms and coaches offices. Design 27 is working with Design Collaborative to assist with the acoustics and audio/visual requirements for both the support facility and the stadium. Opening day has a new meaning on campus at IWU!
