Innovation Hall

IUPUI’s Innovation Hall, completed in August 2020, serves as a multidisciplinary research and academic facility designed to meet the evolving needs of Indiana University’s Schools of Science, Engineering and Technology, and Informatics and Computing. The 100,000-square-foot building includes cutting-edge research labs, modernized classrooms, and collaborative spaces that support interdisciplinary learning and innovation. This $44 million project has become a central hub for fostering collaboration among students and faculty across STEM disciplines.

The architectural design, led by Browning Day, integrates a clean, technologically inspired aesthetic. The building features a façade of aluminum composite panels that reflect light dynamically, emphasizing its streamlined, modern appearance. The facility is designed for advanced research, including a Class 100 clean room for nanodevice fabrication and state-of-the-art engineering and science laboratories​. Additionally, Collaboration Theater is state-of-the-art setup includes high-definition projection systems, adaptable seating arrangements, and immersive AV technology that allows for dynamic presentations and real-time problem-solving.

Design 27 was part of the Browning Day design team to provide technology design solutions and architectural acoustics to control noise and create a pleasing sound environment throughout.
