The Indiana University Excellence Academy is a personal development program geared towards the student-athletes at Indiana University. The focus is to provide student-athletes a platform to develop leadership and life skills along with academic support, career support, and sports performance assessment. This $48 million, 66,575 square foot facility enclosed the south end zone at Memorial Stadium and produced a new front door from campus to Memorial Stadium and the athletics program. This addition includes the following highlights:
- A new Hoosier Room (multipurpose event suite) that is primarily used for student athlete dining.
- Hancock Hiltunen Caito Center for Leadership and Life Skills, where athletes can take advantage of career counseling, resume development and interview training areas.
- Dr. Lawrence D. Rink Center for Medicine and Technology, IU will house advanced equipment for imagery, diagnostics and biometrics.
- Kitchen, servery, and event terrace.
Design 27 worked with Ratio Architects and SmithGroup JJR as part of the design team. Our focus included expanding the existing structured cabling infrastructure, the audio/visual systems and relocation of campus fiber connecting to other athletic facilities on campus.
