Cincinnati Public Library

Forest Park Branch

The new Forest Park Branch of the Cincinnati Public Library is more than just a building—it’s a space designed to bring the community together. With an expanded footprint, modern technology, and versatile meeting areas, the library will be a hub for learning, collaboration, and creativity. One of the most exciting aspects is how this project has been shaped by the people it serves. Through community surveys and feedback sessions, residents of Forest Park expressed a need for flexible spaces that cater to diverse activities—from quiet study areas to vibrant event venues. In response, the new design includes soundproof study rooms, a spacious multi-purpose room, and outdoor seating for open-air programs. The library is also enhancing access to digital resources, bridging the technology gap for many families in the area. New computer stations, high-speed Wi-Fi, and charging hubs will empower patrons to connect with educational and professional opportunities.

Designed by SHP, the building incorporates sleek, modern lines with natural materials that harmonize with the surrounding environment. One standout feature is the expansive glass façade, which invites natural light into the library while offering visitors a view of the lush greenery outside. This design choice not only enhances energy efficiency but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for patrons.
