Earlham College recently implemented a unique integration of collaboration, academic inquiry and integrative learning which is supported through the newly completed CoLab. EPIC, the Earlham Plan for Integrative Collaboration, brings together multiple academic focus areas for collaboration and research opportunities. This includes the Center for Career and Community Engagement, the Center for Global Education along with three new academic centers: Global Health, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Social Justice.
The “CoLab”, short for “CoLaboratory” is a new space that supports EPIC by providing dedicated spaces for the three academic centers. The CoLab was created and planned to foster collaboration and debate around 21st century challenges and issues. This fantastic new space on campus, contains several spaces for small groups to research and have impromptu sessions. Design 27 worked with krM Architecture + to provide the technology planning and design that supports The CoLab.
